D-bar – Class II and III correction

Bring Class II and III patients to Class I by using D-bar

Class II and III Correction Appliance

D-bar_4a

D-bar is a direct or indirect bond orthodontic appliance to provide a Class II treatment solution for primary, permanent or mixed dentition.

D-bar is designed to optimize the molar relationship by minimizing canine over-extrusion, with a highly aesthetic design for improved comfort and reduced treatment times.

D-bar has universal design for left and right side.

D-bar is made up of two separate components, which must be assembled by the physician at the time of positioning or through an indirect bonding procedure.

Distalization

Designed to promote optimization of the intermaxillary relationship

Digital

Designed to be used in combination with the indirect bonding system and then incorporated into the digital workflow

Discreet

Compatible for combined use with i-liner clear aligners

Duration

Ideal for shortening the duration of orthodontic treatment

Features

D-bar_2a

Precision – Reducing freedom degrees of the connection to prevent molar-canine segment unexpected movements.

Effectiveness – Extremely mesial hook position to increase the effectiveness of the device.

Universal – Designed to be used either on the left or right side.

Ergonomcs – Correct bonding on the molar is easy thanks to the two positioning lines. Laser marking makes it easier to identify the proper size.

Resistence – Retentive base with laser cut undercuts to increase the adhesion strength.

Packaging

D-bar is available in individual packs and in sets.

Individual pack contains two universal bars of the same size, two molar sockets and one ruler.

The set contains 24 universal bars (two of each size), 24 molar sockets, a tweezer and 24 rulers.

When to use

D-bar is a device that offers a quick and effective solution for Class II malocclusions, both in patients with primary, permanent, or mixed dentition. Preferably used at the beginning of treatment for distalization of molars and premolars.

D-bar can be used alone or in combination with other commercially available devices such as aligners, brackets or other fixed orthodontic devices.

By placing it on the lower arch, the D-bar also helps with in Class III resolution.

The advantages

Movement control of the molar-canine segment. The locking system has been designed with tight tolerances for greater treatment efficacy to minimize unwished canine or those unexpected inter-arch movements.

High effectiveness. The position of the hook on the canine’s mesial side increases the appliance’s effectiveness by increasing horizontal forces compared to the vertical extrusion ones.

Easy positioning.  The molar socket mesiodistal and occlusal-gingival positioning lines facilitate the positioning on the tooth.

Treatment time reduction. Using a D-bar improves the molar relationship making the orthodontic treatment faster.

High comfort. Its smooth and low-profile design improves patient comfort and compliance during treatment.

How to use?

Once the most suitable D-bar size has been selected, bond the molar socket onto the upper molar (or on the premolar if required).

Insert the bar into the molar socket until the round end disappears completely, then proceed to bond the other end on the canine (or on the premolar if required). On the lower molar or bicuspid, bond an auxiliary device (tube or lingual button) and connect it to the bar’s hook with an intra-oral elastic.

After Class II or Class III has been solved, it is possible to remove D-bar.

It is always recommended to consult the instructions supplied with the product.

Features

D-bar is universal and has two components, a molar socket and a bar, supplied unassembled.

It is possible to easily replace just the bar or change its size during therapy if the clinical conditions require it. This feature makes D-bar flexible, reducing and simplifying the clinic’s inventory.

D-bar can also be integrated into the digital workflow and placed by the indirect bonding procedure; in fact, using two separate components makes it possible to incorporate the device into templates or transfer jigs.

D-bar is made entirely with MIM technology in 17-4 steel; the retentive base is made with a high-frequency laser system for excellent resistance to detachment. Any orthodontic adhesive can be used.

D-bar is available in one-millimeter increments in twelve sizes, from size 16 to 27.

Measurement identification is easy and fast, thanks to laser marking.

In the DDP-Ortho software, the dimensions are selected automatically and can be changed by the operator. Direct or indirect bonding (DDP-Ortho).
